About Me

I am Linda G. Beeler, LCSW, New York City Psychotherapist. I am an experienced licensed clinical social worker with advanced post-graduate training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. I provide individual and couples therapy. I maintain a psychoanalytic private practice in NEW YORK CITY, New York 10023.  My New York City psychotherapy practice is located on the Upper Westside of Manhattan.

With over 20 years experience as a psychotherapist in New York City and as a graduate of  Columbia University School Of Social Work specializing in the mental health field, I treat a broad range of patients with diverse backgrounds and a variety of emotional  problems. My specialties are helping patients reduce anxiety , stress, and depression. Do you have symptoms of anxiety? Anxiety encompasses symptoms of fears, tension, obsessive thoughts, ruminations, restlessness, and nervousness. Do you have symptoms of depression?  The symptoms of depression can include sadness, hopelessness, unhappiness, crying spells, lack of motivation, and helplessness. My expertise is assisting clients in improving  relationship issues, interpersonal conflicts, intimacy issues, marital tensions, divorce counseling,  divorce mediation, and gay and lesbian issues. In couples therapy and marriage counseling, I encourage each partner to identify the areas of conflict in order to come to a resolution.

In addition to being a New York City psychodynamic therapist, I am active in the psychoanalytic community.  I  teach, train, and supervise analysts.  I recently presented at the American Association For  Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work on "The Examined Life." 

I am an interactive therapist and integrate an eclectic psychodynamic approach including relational, self psychology, object relations and intersubjective theories. My therapeutic technique is to be active and provide emotional support, insight and self-reflection in order to help my clients effectively address personal life challenges. By integrating  complementary methodologies and techniques, I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client.  With warmth, compassion and understanding, I work with individuals to help them build their self-esteem and confidence in order for them to attain their personal growth.  My creativity, spontaneity, and sense of humor inspires my patients to overcome obstacles and live a more meaningful lives as well as to have more satisfying relationships.
